I like the title of this piece

This woman sure has preconceptions.

Fortunately all those tons of responses she got proved them to be inaccurate. Hey, how about that, not all men are bastards.

I must differ with how you’ve arrived at your conclusion. Statistically, your result cannot be derived from the sample set. If group A has never experienced “Bastard” behaviour from group B, that does NOT mean that some members of group B may not be Bastards — where Bastard behaviour is definably episodic and intermittent. It only means that the intersection of classifiably “Bastard” behavioural events by members of group B, during encounters by groups A & B, is a null set.

I think your conclusion is likely true, I just don’t agree with how you got there.

I think the hypothesis being tested is “All members of Group B exhibit ‘bastard’ behaviour all the time with absolutely no exceptions ever.” That is, of course, not a difficult hypothesis to invalidate at all, but for various reasons, the standard of proof required is extremely high.

While I would strongly agree that not ALL guys are creepy jerks.. I have had enough creepy jerks refuse to leave me alone to make me very afraid of going out by myself in public.

By “creepy jerk” I mean guys who would just not go away, even to the extent of putting a hand on my leg or arm or shoulder or asking me to “come somewhere” with them, which is really scary! Of course, I am probably too nice to say “LEAVE ME THE F*** ALONE YOU SLIME!” and instead say something like “Excuse me, I rather be alone.” which doesn’t seem to deter.

Again: Not all people are like this, but some is enough to make me afraid. ;_;

All men are bastards, but not all men have been caught behaving like bastards. Or something.

Once i read the first couple of paragraphs of the linked article, i just shook my head and hit the Back button.

Maybe the people reporting no bastard-like behaviour from men they’d encountered had simply never encountered any men at all ever. Don’t tell me you didn’t think of that possibility!

Oh, do read the comments. Collectively, they’re a beautiful job of smacking the poster down.

Many of them did claim specifically to have encountered nonzero numbers of non-bastard men, but I suppose it’s possible that in fact they were all fooled by transgendered persons of female sex and male presentation. It’s even possible that men do not exist at all.
